Characteristics:
Positive: kind, caring, sensitive, selfless,
intuitive, adaptable
Negative: weak-willed, easily led, excitable, air-headed
Most compatible with: Cancer, Sagittarius, Capricorn,
Pisces (most compatible).
Least Compatible with: Taurus
Pisces is likely to feel smothered by the amount of physical affection
a typical Taurus owner would like to bestow upon him.
A Taurus owner may become frustrated by Pisces' lack of independence,
air-headedness and the ease by which he can make his pet do exactly
as he wants.
Although Pisces are sensitive souls and do not the handle any
form of rejection well, this sensitivity combined with the patience
of Taurus can sometimes be the foundation of a successful match.
General Advice:
Pisces are the kindest
and most caring of all pets. They will go to extremes to in order
to take care of anyone who is emotionally or physical hurt (think
Lassie on steroids!).
The intuition of these pets is quite uncanny and difficult to
believe at times. They seem to be able to predict your feelings,
moods and emotions. They also seem to know exactly how you would
like them to react at all times. Sometimes they even appear to
adopt the emotions of the people they are closest with.
Being so sensitive, a Pisces pet is easily excitable. Try to play
them some soothing classical music to calm them down. Also try
to avoid loud noises - sensitive animals are just like sensitive
humans and enjoy the peace and quiet. A Pisces pet that has been
woken up from a nap can become restless and irritable.
The downside of being highly intuitive and responsive is that
your Pisces pet is very likely to be a bit of an air head (or “space
cadet”). They can spend hours looking around doing nothing,
and can occasionally seem distanced from anything happening around
them.
Pisces dogs love to go swimming and Pisces cats like nothing more
than eating salmon, tuna or trout (it must be that Pisces "fish" connection)!
Pisces Facts:
Pisces the Fish represents
the twelfth sign of the Zodiac (19 February - 20 March).
One of the oldest in the sky, the ancient Syrians saw this constellation
as representing two fish joined by a cord - one is fleeing toward
the western horizon and the other is fleeing northward. This strange
imagery was adopted by the ancient Egyptians who explained that
the fish were in fact swimming away from Set (the evil brother
of the god Osiris).
The Greeks further adapted the story. They concluded that one
of the fish was Aphrodite (goddess of love) and the other her son,
Eros. Both of the gods (or fish) are escaping the giant Typhoon.
The stars which comprise Pisces are mostly disappointing – this
despite the size, and prominence of the zodiacal constellation.
Alpha Piscium, a star otherwise known as Alrisha, the Cord, represents
the point where the two fishes' cords meet.
The brightest star is Gamma Piscium, which can be seen in the
western fish (an irregular hexagon of dim stars recognizable by
its characteristic shape). The northern fish, a faint sprawl of
stars in the direction of Andromeda, is much more difficult to
identify.
The three Water sings (Cancer, Scorpio and Pisces) are renowned
for their intuitiveness.
